The Apparition Of The Gospa In Medjugorje Is The Work Of The Devil
The Church in Medjugorje. That which is claimed by the bishops of Mostar - that there are no apparitions in Medjugorje - has been confirmed for the second time by the high rank Vatican dignitaries.
Medjugorje where on June 25, 1981 the Virgin Mary allegedly appeared is the sham of the Devil, a bishop and once the Vatican's top exorcist, Andrea Gemma, told the British ”Daily Mail.” 'In Medjugorje everything happens in function of money: pilgrimages, lodging houses, sale of trinkets. This whole sham is the work of the Devil. It is a scandal,’ says Andrea Gemma.
This statement was published by the press and on internet in Croatia, Serbia and B-H on June 5. Serbian and Croatian media, in citing the same source, have it that the Vatican has accused a group of people who claim to have seen the Virgin Mary more than 40,000 times over the past 27 years and the six 'seers' who have attracted five million pilgrims a year to their home town of Medjugorje, providing a lucrative trade for local businesses.
Critical texts about the alleged appearance of the Mother of God in Medjugorje were first published in Italian, afterwards in German and finally in English press. ”Daily Mail” claims that today the seers own smart houses with security gates and tennis courts and expensive cars. One is married to a former U.S. beauty queen.
The Medjugorje phenomenon began on June 25, 1981, when six children from the poor part of the village told a priest they had seen the Virgin on a hillside near their village.
A church investigation dismissed the vision, and the Vatican banned pilgrimages to the site in 1985. But many Catholics ignored the ban.
The press published in Serbian reminds that Medjugorje has been argued over by the Catholic church in B-H, that is the Bishop of Mostar, former and present, on one side, and the Herzegovina Franciscans, on the other. This dispute is not mentioned by the Croatian press. The fact, not evaded by Serbian press, in contrast to Croatian press, is that the «apparitions took place in the region where the Ustasha killed a great number of Serbs and committed other atrocities against them near the Orthodox Monastery at Zitomislic which bore the brunt in both WWs.
